Solstice hike
It is a very special kind of hiking event. Firstly, you hike through one of the shortest nights of the year. Secondly, you experience the magic of the summer solstice at several adventure stations.
Those who take part in the solstice hike do not want to win a race, but rather see their participation under the motto "The journey is the reward!". Consequently, the motive of "reaching the finish line" and the "shared experience" are just as important to many hikers as a spiritual component. The conscious perception of the changing movement of the sun still inspires many people today and is an expression of an intense connection to nature!
As a result, the focus is on the experience, which is why the hike is not timed or ranked.

The 60 km Magical Solstice Hike takes participants from the start at the music pavilion in Pörtschach via the Hohe Gloriette, Sekull and Forstsee to Velden am Wörthersee. This is also the first stopover in front of the Schlosshotel Velden. The route continues towards Schiefling and past the Trattnigteich pond up to the Pyramidenkogel. Impressed by the sunrise on the highest wooden tower in the world, the hiking route continues downhill to Reifnitz. Via the Spintikteiche and Viktring, participants reach the eastern bay of Lake Wörthersee. The next refreshment stop is at the curling center. The route then continues via the Hallegger Senke, climbing another 100 meters in altitude to the next stopover, Gut Drasing. After indulging in the homemade specialties, the route continues via the Pirkerkogel back to the finish in Pörtschach.

Participants who are picked up will only be taken to Pörtschach! Longer waiting times are to be expected for pick-up.
