Ogrisalm from Bodental via the Märchenwiese

Attention: Currently logging work after the barrier at Ogrisbauer towards Ogrisalm. Passage possible according to AV KLU.

This nice hike in the heart of the Bodental offers breathtaking views, charming meadows and alpine pastures, and a short section of steep descent.

From Klagenfurt in the direction of Loiblpass, on the Sapotniza turn right into Bodental, park at the Sereinig family farm.

Directions

Park at the Sereinig family farm, from there follow the road/marker 662, past the Meerauge and the Bodenbauer inn with the beautiful old lime tree in the courtyard.

Through well-kept woods on a relatively level path to the far end of the fairytale meadow. Follow the hiking trail uphill until it meets the new forest road. Follow this road. Either stay on the forest road (longer but flatter) or follow the hiking trail (shorter and steeper). The new unmanaged hut on the Ogrisalm is soon in sight. The Kosmatiza directly above the Ogrisalm is an ideal summit. The way back leads via the Panoramaweg Südalpen (leaving the Ogrisalm in a north-easterly direction into the forest), trail marker 603, onto a ridge and then steeply down to the right to a forest road. Follow this, past the first houses and the Ogrisbauer farm, and continue on the asphalt road down into the valley. Either follow the asphalt road or turn right just before the former "Sonnenhanglift" / vacation apartment Vertatschablick, path number 8, and across a meadow and through the forest west past the "Schwerzer" onto the road and back to the starting point in Sereinig.
